The Ares Airsoft MSR-303 is a very detailed and high-quality modular airsoft sniper rifle in 1:1 scale. Very interesting about this rifle is the disassembly feature. The rifle can be disassembled within a minute, without additional tools, and then safely stored in the included tactical gun case. Furthermore, the shooting mechanism is based on the now very popular Ares C.P.S.B. system, which is equipped with a bolt that is shortened by 30% (compared to traditional bolts). This also shortens and accelerates the cocking process by 30%, making it easier. Over the years, the system has developed into a popular and proven technology, which is why there is now a large range of tuning options available. A conversion to a CO2 shooting drive is also possible with the appropriate parts. In its delivery state, the rifle has a spring-powered bolt action shooting system in caliber 6mm BB. According to the manufacturer, the shooting power from the factory is about 1.6 Joules.
A highlight is located right at the front of the rifle. It is an outer barrel that is predominantly made of real carbon fiber reinforced plastic - short Carbon. This property makes the barrel very light, while the material looks particularly high-quality. The muzzle brake made of aluminum with a 14mm+ right-hand thread has large openings on the sides, giving it an aggressive appearance. Furthermore, there is a modular front system located at the front above the outer barrel, which can be equipped with the three included 21 mm rails. Due to the modular design of the front system, the rails can be repositioned by the shooter as desired. A mount from the accessory market can also be screwed in for the installation of a bipod. At the front end, the system is equipped with four openings for QD sling mounts and two openings in the rear area. This allows the shooter to customize a sling as needed. The upper mounting rail is a standard 21 mm version that transitions into the rail of the main housing. Larger scopes can also be easily attached. Despite the simple and quick disassembly function of the MSR-303, the parts have almost no play when assembled. A clear plus point that can be attributed to the precise Ares Airsoft manufacturing.
The middle part of the rifle is characterized by the massive main housing, which is made of strong 6063 aluminum using CNC manufacturing. Above the entire aluminum housing is a 21 mm rail approximately 238 mm long. In combination with the approximately 250 mm long rail of the front system, this results in a very long mounting rail for sights with a total length of about 488 mm. Perfect for attaching larger scopes or sight combinations. The foldable and ergonomically shaped grip in G27 design with anti-slip structuring provides particularly good grip in use. Due to the dimensions used by Ares Airsoft, other real steel AR15 grips can also be attached here if desired.
Visually particularly striking is the completely modular stock in M40A6 design. The stock is made of 6063 aluminum using CNC manufacturing, making it very stable and precisely fitting at the same time. The stock mounted at the back can be folded to the side and is securely held in position by a spring-loaded locking mechanism. Behind the folding joint, there is an opening on the left and right to insert a QD sling mount (not included). To perfectly adjust the stock to the shooter, the stock can be adjusted in length by approximately 40 mm without steps. The cheek rest also has a stepless height adjustment of about 22 mm. The two adjustment options are adjusted using so-called quick adjustments, without additional tools. As a cherry on top, the stock cap can also be adjusted in height in five steps. The rear side is rounded off with short 21 mm rails located on the right and the underside of the stock. The lower rail can be used, for example, for the installation of a monopod.
Very interesting and player-oriented is the Ares C.P.S.B. shooting system, which is already known from the Ares Striker series. The Compact Power Spring Bolt is a bolt that is shortened by 30% (compared to traditional bolts). This also shortens and accelerates the cocking process by 30%, making it easier. Another plus point is that performance upgrades can be carried out with standard AEG tuning springs due to the shortening of the bolt. From the factory, an angled cocking lever is attached to the MSR-303, which allows the rifle to be perfectly cocked while aiming. As with the AST-01, the new side load indicator is also present and reliably indicates from the outside whether the rifle is in a cocked or uncocked state. The material used by Ares Airsoft for the shooting components ensures high reliability and perfect performance when shooting. Thanks to the C.P.S.B. shooting system, it is also possible to convert the actual spring-powered rifle to a CO2 shooting drive. Completely assembled Ares Airsoft replacement cylinders are also available in our shop. As is customary with Ares Airsoft, all parts are cleanly processed and make a solid impression. With a shooting power of up to 1.6 Joules, there is also a suitable factory performance available.
The Ares Airsoft MSR-303 is, according to our information, compatible with AEG or S-AEG tuning springs, VSR-10 cocking levers, VSR-10 hop-up rubbers, and VSR-10 inner barrels. The remaining parts are not compatible with other rifles.
The adjustable hop-up system is adjusted at the top of the sight mounting rail. For sufficient magazine capacity in combat, the removable 40-round low-cap magazine made of steel sheet provides enough capacity.
The included tactical gun case is very sturdy and has foam inserts inside that are die-cut. This allows the rifle parts to be safely stored in disassembled condition. There is also an additional space for an optional scope. The rifle is disassembled into the main components by the lever in front of the magazine well. Press this down to remove the rail handguard. Then unscrew the barrel from the main housing using the massive nut and the flash hider - done. The rifle can now be compactly stored in the case.
For operation, 6mm BB airsoft round balls are still needed.
