The BB97 is the classic double rifle from Blaser. As with almost all combined weapons, Blaser also relies on a precision trigger for the BB97, which is said to be characterized by its particularly "dry characteristics".
The safety system with manual cocking mechanism integrated into this model is considered extremely reliable. In the Blaser BB97, the cocking mechanism is intentionally cocked only shortly before firing. If no shot is fired, it can be returned to its original position by simply pressing the cocking lever, which relaxes the firing springs. All metallic components of the weapon are made from materials that are resistant to corrosion or have been protected from corrosion through special surface treatments.
Blaser offers the BB97, which in the standard version features free-floating, precisely adjustable barrels, also as the BB97 Classic model. In this model, the barrels are permanently soldered together. It is marketed by Blaser itself as a driven hunt weapon. To ensure the highest possible shooting precision of both barrels, the BB 97 Classic is factory-equipped with a ZEISS Victory HT M1,1-4x24 scope, L-Abs. 60.
