WARNING! Sale only to holders of a purchase permit! The Heckler & Koch Mark 23 0 SOCOM .45 Auto/ACP pistol offers the shooter match-grade accuracy comparable to the finest custom pistols – yet still exceeds the strictest operational requirements ever placed on a service pistol. The Mark 23 delivers this accuracy without the need for handcrafted parts common in specially made match pistols, which cause high costs. One of the most thoroughly tested pistols in history, the MK23/Mark 23 project began in 1991 when HK started development for the U.S. Special Operations Command, the organization coordinating the deployment of elite military units across all branches of the US military, including the Navy SEALs and Army Special Forces. On May 1, 1996, the first HK Mark 23 pistols were delivered to the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) for operational use, making the Mark 23 the first caliber .45 Auto/ACP pistol to enter American military service since the venerable Colt Government Model 1911A1. During testing, the MK 23 pistols met the highest operational and accuracy requirements ever set for a combat pistol. Endurance tests showed a lifespan of over 30,000 rounds of +P ammunition. To meet the reliability requirement, the pistol had to demonstrate at least 2,000 mean rounds between stoppages (MRBS) with M1911 ball and +P ammunition. All pistols exceeded 2000 MRBS with an average of 6000 MRBS. In more than 450 precision tests from a precision shooting device at 25 meters, the MK 23 pistols far exceeded legal requirements with an average group size of 1.44 inches and 65 groups under one inch. There were four groups of .5 inch, with 5 shots going through the same hole!
