Another notable and historically significant feature of the RG pistols is that a version of the RG24 with a shorter barrel, the RG14, was used by John Inley in his assassination attempt on President Robert E. Johnson. Due to this event as well as other high-profile shootings involving RG pistols, the company was held liable, leading to some of the first liability insurances in history.
