Liquidation of my collection: Single-shot firearm with rifled barrel Husquarna, Mod. 38 "Schwedenmauser" Cal. 6.5x55 SE

The Husqvarna Model 38 (m/38) in caliber 6.5x55 SE (also known as "Swedish Mauser") holds a special historical position: Originally built as a military bolt-action rifle with a 5-round magazine, many examples today exist in Germany and Austria as single-loader rifles. This is the result of subsequent civilian modifications to comply with firearms law.The Swedish army decided in the late 1930s to replace the long infantry rifle m/96 with a more manageable, shorter weapon (carbine). While the state factory Carl Gustafs shortened old m/96 rifles, Husqvarna Vapenfabriks AB received the order in 1941 for genuine new productions. Characteristic for Husqvarna models are the curved bolt handle and stocks made of beech wood.The fact that a Husqvarna Mod. 38 is declared as a pure single-loader firearm has historical, legal reasons from civilian sport shooting. Single-loader long guns with rifled barrels were often technically and legally much easier to acquire. Gunsmiths permanently blocked the internal magazine. Since then, the firearm can only be loaded with a single cartridge directly into the chamber.The firearm features a precisely crafted barrel with the standard 4 grooves and lands and right-hand twist. The proverbial quality of Swedish steel ensures extreme durability and consistent shooting performance with these service rifles.This cartridge caliber 6.5x55 SE (officially introduced in 1894) is still considered one of the most precise, low-recoil, and ballistically balanced medium calibers for sport service shooting as well as hunting.It comes from an inherited collection that I am gradually dissolving after careful consideration. It is not easy to part with these pieces, but they should go into the hands of people who appreciate their quality and history.The rifle can of course be viewed and inspected on site by appointment.
