Clearance of my collection: Bolt-action rifle Finnish Mosin-Nagant M39 Cal. 7.62x54R

The Finnish bolt-action rifle Mosin-Nagant Model 39 (M39) is considered by historians and sports shooters worldwide as the best and most precise variant of the entire Mosin-Nagant weapon system. Its creation is closely linked to Finland's struggle for survival against the Soviet Union in World War II.After Finland declared its independence from Russia in 1917, the young country took over huge stocks of the imperial Russian standard rifle Mosin-Nagant Mod. 1891.However, the original Russian rifles were extremely long, unwieldy, and known for their moderate precision and rough triggers. In the 1920s and 1930s, the Finnish army and the Finnish Civil Guard militia (Suojeluskunta) independently rebuilt the old Russian weapons. In April 1939, shortly before the outbreak of the Winter War, both factions agreed on a common standard rifle - the Model 39. It combined the robustness of the army rifles with the superior precision of the militia weapons.The Finns did not completely rebuild the weapons but recycled the nearly indestructible old Russian receivers. Everything else was massively improved. Finland installed heavy, thick match barrels (manufactured by SAKO, Tikkakoski, or VKT, among others) that possess legendary inherent precision.The typical Finnish birch stock received a half-pistol grip for better ergonomics. The stocks were often assembled in the factory from two parts using dovetail joints ("hedge grip stock") to prevent warping in extreme cold and moisture.The creeping Russian trigger was transformed into a dry, fine trigger with a crisp break by installing two small pins on the sear.The M39 received one of the best open sights of its time with a protected hooded front sight that could be precisely adjusted laterally.The M39 enjoyed an almost legendary reputation among soldiers for reliability at temperatures down to -40 °C. After World War II, the M39 remained stored as a strategic reserve for decades. Even into the early 1970s, SAKO still assembled small series of the M39 as sniper and training weapons for the army.This rifle comes from an inherited collection that I am gradually dissolving after careful consideration. It is not easy to part with these pieces, but they should go into the hands of people who appreciate their quality and history.The rifle can, of course, be viewed and inspected on site by appointment. I place great value on transparency so that you can personally verify the condition of the weapon.The price is negotiable.
