Rarity: FN Browning Auto-5 (A-5) caliber 16/65 – Early Belgian production with "Suicide Safety" & comb stock

Product descriptionFor sale is a true milestone in firearm history: An original Browning Auto-5 (A-5) in the classic caliber 16/65, manufactured by the traditional Fabrique Nationale (FN) in Herstal, Belgium.This legendary recoil-operated shotgun is in an honest, age-appropriate very nice original condition with a wonderful, characterful patina. It has not been modified or "restored to death".Special features for collectors & connoisseurs: Early version (“Suicide Safety”): The safety is located as a slider directly at the front of the trigger guard – a rare and sought-after feature of earlier models (most likely pre-war or early post-war production). European comb stock: Very nice wooden stock with the classic, elegant comb on the left side. Original markings: The receiver bears the classic FN manufacturer inscription ("FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE") as well as the patent clearly and deeply readable. Belgian nitro proof: The contemporary proof marks from the Liège office (including the "P.V" mark with lion) are clearly visible on the bolt. Equipped with the practical magazine cutoff on the left side of the receiver.Condition: System & mechanics: Runs buttery smooth, dry firing does not block anything. Wood (stock): Age-appropriate, light superficial signs of use with very nice, warm wood grain. The forend shows the unfortunately typical fine crack for this model (see photos).
