In addition to the AR-typical T-shaped charging handle, the SPC223 features a MilSpec-compatible buffer tube. This allows for the attachment of numerous commercially available AR-15 stocks. The pistol grip also conforms to the common AR standard and can be easily replaced with other compatible models.The controls of the grip are designed for both right- and left-handed shooters. The charging handle can also be operated from both sides. An additional side charging handle has been omitted in this version.Inside, a short-stroke gas piston system operates, as used in the APC series. This design reduces fouling in the system and supports reliable and controlled function.
