Rare Mayer & Söhne Mod G in caliber 6 mm blank/ PTB 165

For sale here is an old Perfecta Mod. G. The Perfecta has a long history. Its origins date back to the 1930s and the company Carl Walther, which was then located in the arms city of Zella-Mehlis, where the first model of the gas alarm pistol Perfecta was manufactured during those years.After the war, production was halted. In 1952, Mayer & Riem KG from Arnsberg secured the trademark rights and resumed production. The product line was expanded in the 1960s with several variants as starting pistols with blank firing and gas/signal pistols. The models manufactured by Mayer & Riem/ Mayer & Söhne bear the logo MaRie or the emblem, as seen here on the grip panels.In the early 1970s, the companies Mayer & Riem KG and Mayer & Ussfeller GmbH merged to form Umarex Sportwaffen GmbH & Co. KG. Production and model maintenance continued for several more years and, to my knowledge, was discontinued in the late 1980s.A special feature of this weapon is the tube magazine, into which up to eight 6 mm Flobert blank cartridges can be inserted upright. Fired blank cartridges are ejected through an opening on the rear upper side.Once the magazine is empty, the trigger cannot be pulled anymore. Thus, you know that it has been shot empty. There is still one casing inside, as the pistol only ejects the upper casing after the second shot. The last one can then be fired after removing the magazine.The pistol is a real workhorse; it is robust and very durable. It has been test-fired and works.
