The U.S. Cavalry Saber Model 1906 (M1906) was a prototype of the U.S. Army and represented an evolution of the older Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber. It was manufactured by the Ames Sword Company and tested starting in 1906. However, the model was only in use for a short time and was eventually replaced by the Model 1913 Cavalry Saber. It is often mentioned in collector circles that only about 1,000–1,300 specimens were produced for troop trials.
