Unlike other Spanish handguns, the weapons from Astra and Star have a good reputation. It was the most successful, best-selling model of the company Unceta y Cia,/Guernica (Astra), the Cub. A total of 236,241 pistols in caliber 6.35 mm Browning and 140,150 pistols in .22 short were produced and sold by Astra until July 1995. Until the closure of the Astra company in 1998, further M 2000 Cub were manufactured in the production facilities. Even a Colt weapon, the Colt Junior, was identical to the Cub and was produced at Astra in Guernica. As a pocket pistol, Astra had previously offered the M 200 from 1920 to 1967, which was produced in various versions and sold 234,105 times.
