Manufactured by FN Browning, Herstal Belgium. Steel frame.FN produced the revolutionary Model 1905 pocket pistol under license from American firearms designer John Browning. Despite the name FN used for this pistol, it was later marketed as FN 1906, VP .25 (VP for Vest Pocket) and most confusingly as Baby.The .25 ACP cartridge became widely used during this time. This cartridge was among the first automatic pistol cartridges used worldwide. The rim of the cartridge case had a slightly larger circumference than the base of the cartridge, and directly above it, an extraction groove was cut. The Vest Pocket pistol of 1905 featured a grip safety mechanism and also a small safety lever on the left side of the frame that locked the trigger. Additionally, this safety lever locked the slide about half an inch from the front of the pistol to allow for easy disassembly. FN produced and marketed the FN Baby (Browning) from 1931 to 1979, with exports to the USA occurring only between 1953 and 1968. Rare version from FN with the highest quality manufacturing level. Typically with FN ellipse on the grip panels and the inscription on the slide "Fabrique National".
