Beautiful, honest double-barrel shotgun probably from the Belgian manufacturer Charles Clément from Liège, made around 1895–1910.Caliber 16/65, double triggers, external hammers, top-lever lock with extractor (no ejectors).Proof & Markings:Stamped with “ELG” in an oval with crown (Belgian post-1893 proof), additionally “16” in a diamond over “C” (caliber marking, approx. 1898–1924) as well as a rod/lance-shaped proof mark as a Belgian inspection symbol.No “P.V.” or Nitro stamp visible → presumably black powder proof.Before use with modern nitro cartridges, a reproofing would be necessary.Features & Condition:Double trigger, external hammersExtractor (no ejectors)Stock with German cheek, butt plate missingFore-end with a small crack, otherwise solidBarrels with slight surface rust, no pitting, bead sight, sling swivel eyesSimple, unadorned design, smooth action without engravingMechanically functional, good condition for its age, does not rattleA beautiful collector's or decorative piece from the Belgian arms metropolis Liège, with typical features of the time around 1900 and classic 16 gauge caliber.Sale is as a collector's item / decorative weapon, not tested for firing capability.Sale only to EWB, errors excepted
