Description

The arms dealer WH e.K. offers:MAB (Manufacture d'Armes de Bayonne) Brevet Modele "D" Police d' Etat, Type 2, 7.65 mm -Collector's weapon  The company "Manufacture d'Armes de Bayonne" was founded in 1920 by M. Leon Barthe and settled in the Wefts on the Adour.Initially, it specialized in the production of automatic pistols, which were sold on the private market with moderate but increasing success. During the German occupation in World War II, the factory was under German management and control from 1940 to 1944. The company was reoriented to meet the needs of the German army, with the pistols manufactured for the German military and police marked with the usual German acceptance stamps. After the war in 1945, the production of commercial pistols was resumed, and the company MAB completed its range of pistols with new models sold in France on the private market as well as to the army and authorities. After several changes of ownership  in the 1970s, MAB became a subsidiary of Fabrique Nationale in Herstal. Under their leadership, MAB produced parts for FN but ultimately had to close in September 1982. The MAB Model D is a pistol produced from 1933 to 1963 (.32 ACP) and 1982 (.380 ACP) by MAB Manufacture d'armes de Bayonne, inspired by the Belgian Browning FN pistol 1910/22. It was developed alongside the smaller "MAB C," which was also manufactured in .32 and .380 ACP calibers and shares many parts with it. Some later examples labeled "MAB C" are actually a combination of MAB C slide and barrel with a MAB D frame. The MAB D was used by the Wehrmacht before and after World War II. After the occupation of France by German troops, the MAB D was adopted during World War II. These pistols typically have stamped German acceptance marks. After World War II, the MAB D was used by the French military in Indochina. In France, it was used by various French government agencies, including the French local police, the Gendarmerie (military police and also civilian rural police), customs, the National Forestry Office, and the Banque de France. There were two MAB D versions, commonly referred to as Type I and Type II. The Type I MAB D was manufactured between 1933 and 1945 and featured an external muzzle bushing release lever in front of the trigger guard; the Type II used an internal bayonet lock that required pressing and turning the muzzle bushing. The MAB factory switched production from Type I to Type II in June 1945. Manufacturer: MAB (Manufacture d'Armes de Bayonne) FN HERSTAL S.A., Voie de Liège 33, B-4040 Herstal ([email protected])Model: D, Type 2Police edition: Police d' EtatCaliber: 7.65 mm BrowningTotal length: 175 mmBarrel: 100 mm (4 inches)Plastic grip panels, both with stress cracks!with lanyard loopno valid proof, collector's weapon!no foreign stampsmatching numbersgood condition, minor signs of wearAccessories: none* Take the opportunity to view in the store.
