Taurus Armas, originally a tool manufacturer, now produces firearms, metal parts, bulletproof vests, helmets, and other products. The company was founded in 1939. In 1941, the first revolver, model 38101SO, was manufactured. Since 1968, Taurus has been exporting revolvers to the United States. Taurus is now over 60 years old, having started as a tool manufacturer and is based in Porto Alegre (Brazil). Taurus Gaucho, a classic SA revolver, Gaucho models are 6-shot and without adjustable sights. Available in blued, polished stainless steel, or with color-hardened frame (barrels blued). The name "Gaucho" is a kind of South American version of the cowboy. Obviously, the Taurus Gaucho was aimed at the cowboy action market. What Taurus did was not a clone of the good old SAA; it was more of a combination of IT and Ruger's new model revolvers. The look is definitely Colt SAA and also the same size. It fits perfectly in any SAA holster. Absolute stability through trigger guard and back strap - both parts are connected to the main frame with six screws. The Gaucho has the so-called -smokeless powder frame-, which was introduced into the SAA series in the mid-1890s.
