RADOM VIS Model 35, Pistolet Vis wz, Radom 35, 9 mm Luger   The Vis (officially Pistolet Vis wz. 35 or Pistole 35(p), also known as Radom pistol) was a semi-automatic pistol of Polish origin in caliber 9 mm Parabellum. It served as the standard service weapon of the Polish armed forces before World War II. The VIS designs were based on the proven technology of Browning firearms. Its external appearance resembles that of the Colt M1911, but its locking mechanism is more similar to the FN Browning HP. Instead of the link of the 1911, the Vis featured a rigid locking curve. The pistol proved to be very accurate and had three safety systems.    a decocking lever   a safety to lock the hammer and trigger   a heel safetyThe Vis did not have a cocking trigger; it operated on the single-action principle. Production of the Vis began in 1935 at the state arms factory Fabryka Broni Łucznik in Radom, with a total of fewer than 50,000 pistols delivered. After the fall of Poland and its occupation by the Wehrmacht, the stocks were confiscated, and it was decided to include the weapon in the arsenal of the German troops. The official German designation of the model was Pistole 35  and Pistole 645, and it was primarily issued to the Luftwaffe and SS units.
