The arms dealer WH e.K. offers:WW2 US Cal .30 Browning fabric belt, M1919 USGI, original fabric ammunition belt G.C.M.After World War I, a large part of the development work on machine gun belts was carried out in collaboration with the Springfield Armory by Russell Manufacturing Co. from Middletown, CT. The original M1917 machine gun belt was based on US Patent No. 1,168,876 by F. Frissell. During World War II, over 30 million 250-round fabric belts were procured for the US Army to supply their various .30 caliber Browning machine guns for infantry. Steps were taken to ensure production at six locations. By June 1945, the requirement was reduced to only 4,250,000 belts. Production orders originally placed with International Braid Co., Murdock Webbing Co., and Oehrle Bros. Co. were canceled, and no production was realized by these companies in 1945. Russell Manufacturing Co. achieved the first production in May, followed by the next month produced by George C. Moore Co. The Warren Featherbone Co. only produced 7,451 belts until VJ Day, when all production was halted, making Featherbone belts from 1945 some of the rarest belts of World War II in the USA cal. 30 Browning belts for collectors.
