The arms dealer WH e.K. offers:Star Firearms B.Echeverria – Semi-automatic pistol Model B; 9 mm; LPNPistol "Star Model B" of the Lower Saxony State Police, the construction and design of the pistol corresponds to the Colt Mod. 1911 A1 but is in caliber 9mm Luger and without a grip safety. The Star Model B is a single-action semi-automatic pistol that fires the 9mm Parabellum cartridge. It was manufactured by Star Bonifacio Echeverria, SA in Spain as a further development of the Star Model A in 9x23mm Largo. It visually resembles the M1911 pistol series and is inspired by it, but differs mechanically in several respects. The trigger group of the 1911 is more similar to the earlier Ruby pistols (whose manufacturer was Star during World War I), and the safety functions differently – the 1911 safety blocks the trigger, while the Star safety engages the hammer. It was produced for 52 years from 1931 to 1983 and then replaced by the similar "Super" series. During World War II, both Nazi Germany and Bulgaria purchased large quantities of Model B for military purposes. In Star 1911 weapons that were overhauled by the Soviets after World War II, the extractor usually has a deep reddish color due to the dip blue method used. This phenomenon has been observed in many other German or Soviet weapons. The most notable use of a Star Model B in film is Jules Winnfield's silver-plated example from Pulp Fiction. On the underside of the grip back is the serial number and the model designation "B". On the front of the grip is the identification LPN for the Lower Saxony State Police. The weapon contains the original magazine marked "STAR" and the last three digits of the serial number. Left side slide marking: Company logo of Star (star with rays) STAR B.Echeverria Eibar Espana S.A. CAL. 9mm Spanish proof mark under the last three digits of the serial number.
