M1910 is the designation for the smallest of these handguns with a chamber for the 6.35 mm cartridge (.25 ACP) and the model designation M1914 for the 7.65 mm pistol (.32 ACP). The origin of this weapon lay in the pocket pistol Mauser 1910, which was only set up for the weak 6.35 mm Browning cartridge. The new model was technically identical but fired a stronger ammunition and received a slide stop. This was intended to make the pistol more suitable for official use.
