The metal parts are polished.Rare needle fire rifle that originated from the war booty of the Austrian percussion Lorenz rifles Mod. 1854 and was issued to the microstate of Hesse, as well as to the Prussian Landwehr. These were still armed with muzzle-loaders in 1866 and had a need for the "new" breech-loading weapons after the 1866 war. The modified rifles mostly went to the Landwehr.
