However, it is important to note that the Modello Allegrito revolver has a rounded 3.5-inch barrel, which is the main distinguishing feature from the Tipo B Officer's Model revolvers. Modello Allegrito revolvers were also hot caustic blued, rather than being blued with charcoal or rust. Furthermore, production of the Modello Allegrito only began in 1922, long after the end of the war. The Modello Allegrito was never used by the Royal Italian Army but was mainly issued to Italian police forces, for example, to Italian customs officials.
