Primo extendable baton approved by the Banco di Prova di Brescia.

The TACT580 is the first extendable baton in Italy considered not a weapon and therefore freely sold.

Being a tool and not a weapon, it is allowed:

– Home possession;

– Possession in property appurtenances;

– Carrying in public for legitimate defense;

– The tool can also become a light with an additional torch that attaches to the handle.

On July 22, 2016, the “TACT580” was submitted for evaluation to the National Proof House for Portable Firearms and Commercial Ammunition of Gardone Valtrompia (D.L. September 29, 2013, n. 121 Supplementary and corrective provisions of legislative decree October 26, 2010, n. 204, concerning the implementation of directive 2008/51/CE, which modifies directive 91/477/CEE relating to the control of the purchase and possession of weapons. (13G00165) (GU General Series n. 247 of 21-10-2013), which with response Prot. n.195-2016/BAL-AG/vp, after carrying out a series of practical technical tests based on technical literature on the subject, studies conducted in the United States of America by Jeffrey M. Widder in collaboration with the NIJ (National Institute of Justice), did not classify it as a weapon, certifying that only if the tool were used improperly (hitting with full force on a person’s head) could it cause physical harm to people, just like any other common tool, as well as punches, kicks and headbutts, pens, scissors, etc.

To avoid even this possibility, an adjustment was made to the upper part of the tool, the tip, by mounting one with controlled flexibility, which thanks to shock absorption is able to transfer kinetic energy safely without causing damage to a bone structure.
