Chambered in .308 Win., SFAR combines the ballistic advantages of the .308 Winchester with the size of a traditional MSR. The bolt and barrel extension are CNC machined from high-strength superalloy steel that surpasses traditional C158 bolts. The conical geometry of the lug further strengthens the bolt to better support the cartridges. The bolt carrier group features a chrome-coated 8620 steel bolt carrier and a gas key treated with nitride. The titanium firing pin is DLC coated for long durability. The bolt includes dual ejectors and an optimized extractor to ensure precise and consistent extraction and ejection, also thanks to the enlarged ejection port. The barrel, made of 4140 chrome-molybdenum steel, is cold forged with ultra-precise 5R rifling. The heavy-profile barrel is well balanced, and its attractive black nitride finish helps ensure exceptional precision, longevity, and ease of cleaning. The Boomer 2-chamber muzzle brake by Ruger® has large perpendicular surfaces to redirect gas and reduce perceived recoil. The 5/8″-24 muzzle threads on the barrel remain compatible with other brakes and flash hiders. The lightweight 15″ aluminium handguard is free-floating for maximum precision and features slots for Magpul® M-LOK® accessory attachment. Quick detach (QD) sling mounts located at the muzzle end of the handguard allow comfortable carrying with two-point slings. The mid-length gas system is adjustable with 4 positions from 0.750″ to achieve ideal operation across the wide range of ammunition available today. Equipped with a Ruger Elite 452® trigger offering a smooth and crisp 2-stage 4.5-pound trigger pull. A full-power hammer spring and a lightened hammer ensure fast lock times and consistent primer ignition. Made with a hard-coated anodized 7075-T6 aluminium forging, the upper receiver includes a deflector. The lower receiver features a generous magazine well flare for easy magazine insertion. The Magpul MOE SL® stock and MOE® grip provide control and ergonomics.
