Description

His adventures and explorations took place mainly in Africa starting from the first half of the nineteenth century. He was a close friend and hunting guide of U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt and was one of Cecil Rhodes' most active agents in the colonial conquest of Southeastern and Southwestern Africa. He wrote many books on hunting, exploration, nature, and geography. In his honour, one of the largest and most beautiful natural parks in Africa was named after him, the Selous National Park in Tanzania, where his tombstone is located as he was killed in combat there by a German unit during World War I. This is the first work written by Selous, narrating his first two hunting adventures in one of the most remote and dangerous places in Africa, where he hunted to survive and for ivory armed with only two smoothbore muzzleloading rifles, caliber 4 and 10. This is the most beautiful hunting adventure book ever written. In the book’s Introduction, the Translator also provides a detailed History of Selous and all the firearms and ammunition he used for all his exploits. The Original Work in free PDF is available for those who purchase the Italian Translation! An indispensable book for the hunter’s library!
