Description

ThermTec Cyclops 635L 3.0 – Thermal Imaging Monocular with Integrated Laser Rangefinder

The ThermTec Cyclops 635L 3.0 is a powerful thermal imaging monocular for wildlife, nature, and outdoor observation. A high-resolution 640 × 512 pixel thermal sensor with 12 µm pixel pitch meets an exceptionally bright 35-mm F0.8 lens, a thermal sensitivity of ≤ 15 mK, and a high-resolution 0.5-inch AMOLED display.

A special feature of the Cyclops 635L 3.0 is the laser rangefinder with up to 1,000 meters range integrated directly into the compact housing. The extensive equipment is complemented by ThermTec AI calibration, thermal super resolution, optimized digital zoom, 64 GB internal memory, photo and video recording, as well as hotspot and app functions.

With a weight of only 435 ± 5 g, replaceable 18650 batteries, and ergonomic one-handed operation, the Cyclops 635L 3.0 is designed for longer mobile observation missions.
640 × 512 Sensor with ≤ 15 mK NETD

The core of the ThermTec Cyclops 635L 3.0 is a 640 × 512 pixel microbolometer with 12 µm pixel pitch. The high sensor resolution enables detailed imaging of heat sources and supports reliable detection of fine contours and structures.

With a thermal sensitivity of ≤ 15 mK NETD, the sensor can differentiate very small temperature differences. This is especially noticeable when the object and environment have only slight thermal differences – for example, in high humidity, fog, rain, or balanced ambient temperatures.

The 50 Hz frame rate also ensures smooth rendering during movement and panning.
Bright 35mm F0.8 Lens

The 35mm lens with F0.8 aperture is designed for high light and heat transmission, complementing the sensitive 640 sensor. The interplay of sensor, NETD, and bright optics is crucial for a high-contrast thermal image under demanding conditions.

The field of view is 12.5° × 10°. At a distance of 100 meters, this corresponds to an area of about 21.9 × 17.6 meters. This gives the Cyclops 635L 3.0 a balanced combination of overview and detail recognition.
Up to 1,800 Meter Detection Range

The specified detection range is up to 1,800 meters. This makes the thermal monocular suitable for observation in the immediate surroundings as well as for wide-area scanning of distant areas.

The basic optical magnification is 2.6×. Combined with the digital zoom, a magnification range of 2.6× to 10.4× is available.
Integrated Laser Rangefinder up to 1,000 Metres

With the integrated laser rangefinder (LRF), distances can be measured directly through the thermal monocular. The maximum measuring range is 1,000 metres with a stated accuracy of ± 1 metre.

The rangefinder operates at a wavelength of 905 nm and complies with laser safety class 1. By integrating it directly into the device, distance measurement is available without a separate accessory.
0.5-inch AMOLED display with 1600 × 1200 pixels

The image is displayed on a 0.5 inch AMOLED display with 1600 × 1200 pixels. The high resolution supports a clear and high-contrast presentation of the information captured by the thermal sensor.

Especially in combination with the high sensor resolution and digital zoom, the display helps to comfortably assess fine structures and details. A diopter adjustment of ± 5 dpt allows adaptation to the individual needs of the user.
Thermal Super Resolution and Optimized Digital Zoom

The Cyclops 635L 3.0 supports thermal super resolution, which is designed to improve detail reproduction, especially at higher magnifications. It works together with the device’s digital image processing and optimized zoom.

This allows you to selectively enlarge more distant areas while the image processing focuses on the clearest possible display of contours and heat patterns.
ThermTec AI Calibration for Fewer Image Interruptions

The integrated ThermTec AI calibration optimizes image correction depending on the respective environmental conditions. The goal is to reduce the frequency of necessary calibration processes and the associated brief image interruptions.

Especially during longer observation periods, this supports the most continuous and stable thermal image display possible. Additionally, automatic and manual calibration options are available.
PIP, Hot Tracking and six color palettes

For different observation situations, a total of six color palettes are available. In addition, the device offers various digital functions for individual adjustment of the display.

With the Picture-in-Picture function (PIP), a selected image area can be additionally magnified. Hot Tracking helps identify conspicuous heat sources. Additionally, different image modes are available for various environmental conditions.
Photo, Video and 64 GB Internal Storage

Observations can be documented directly as photo or video. With 64 GB internal storage, the Cyclops 635L 3.0 offers enough space for numerous recordings.

Stored photos and videos can be played back directly on the device. The OSD recording also allows the capture of displayed screen information.
Hotspot and App Remote Control

The integrated hotspot function allows the ThermTec Cyclops 635L 3.0 to connect with compatible mobile devices. This provides access to corresponding app features and remote control options.

The USB-C port is used for both data transfer and charging the batteries.
Two interchangeable 18650 batteries

For power supply, ThermTec relies on interchangeable and rechargeable 18650 lithium-ion batteries. The replaceable battery concept offers a practical advantage, especially for longer outdoor missions, as discharged batteries can be swapped out.

For the Cyclops 635L 3.0, an operating time of about 6 hours is specified. The actual runtime can depend on factors such as outside temperature, display settings, as well as the use of Wi-Fi, rangefinder, and recording functions.
Compact, ergonomic and designed for outdoor use

With dimensions of approximately 187 × 56 × 71 mm and a weight of only 435 ± 5 g, the Cyclops 635L 3.0 remains compact despite its extensive features.

The ergonomic housing shape is designed for comfortable one-handed operation. A rubberised surface, easily accessible controls, and focusing via a rotary dial make handling easier even during longer observations.

With the IP67 protection class, the thermal imaging monocular is protected against dust and water. The operating temperature range from -20 °C to +50 °C allows use under a wide variety of weather conditions.
