The new break-action rifle Merkel K5: slimmer, more agile and, according to Merkel, a bit more beautiful than its predecessors and . Arabesque version with hand-engraved arabesque on the action.
The Merkel K5 is tuned for dynamic elegance - yet 100% functional. The newly defined line of the rifle stretches from the buttstock with its slight Monte Carlo comb over the forestock extended with fine rosewood to the 17 mm thick barrel like a big cat in a leap.
Brilliant technology in a new look and feel: The break block is extremely short and locks steel on steel, typical Merkel. Technical sophistication, new line of stock, action and barrel as well as refined functionality: all in all a rifle with only 2.3 kilograms net weight and in the most manageable dimensions.
The removable break block bolt is the heart of the K5: it locks steel on steel, is extremely light, short and secure. The titanium-nitrided bolt block is removable, making the weapon quickly and easily non-firing. The locking system with removable hunter break block bolt features a separate manual cocking.
The new manual cocking works completely silently and is even easier to operate - almost no finger strength is needed anymore. The revised trigger system is length- and side-adjustable. With a trigger pull of only 600 g and a wider trigger blade, the Merkel K5 can be operated well with any finger and hand shape.
Pistol grip, forestock and patent snap fasteners are elegantly finished with ebony. The buttstock of wood grade 4 features detachable sling swivels and a Bavarian cheekpiece with double rebate.
The 17 mm diameter barrels feature the universal i-Sight system with covered M15x1 muzzle thread. With a single internal hex screw, rear sight and front sight can be removed, and the front sight can be repositioned - depending on whether shooting with suppressor, without sight or with muzzle brake.
The sling swivels are equipped with the new Merkel Speedster system and are also detachable.
