Ruger 77/17 Bolt-Action Rifle .17 Hornet Green Mountain Laminate Stainless 470 mm – 6 Rounds #7220
The Ruger 77/17 model 7220 is a compact bolt-action rifle in caliber .17 Hornet, combining a classic 77-Series design with a durable Green Mountain laminate stock and matte stainless finish. The short 470 mm barrel and an overall length of around 959 mm ensure a handy build, while the weight of about 3.18 kg supports a steady shooting position. The cold hammer-forged stainless steel barrel is 18.5" / 470 mm long and comes factory-equipped with a 1/2"-28 muzzle thread and installed thread protector. Ruger uses a right-hand twist of 1:9", corresponding to a twist length of about 229 mm. The cold hammer forging creates the rifling directly during barrel manufacturing and is designed for consistent precision and long service life. The 77/17 operates with a robust stainless steel bolt and a classic 90° opening angle. Ruger also highlights the short firing pin travel as a design feature to support precision. The easily accessible three-position safety allows the bolt to be locked or operated for loading and unloading depending on the position when the rifle is on safe. The cartridge feed is from a removable 6-round rotary magazine. The special rotor keeps the cartridges separated and supports reliable feeding. The magazine sits flush with the stock, avoiding protrusions in the rifle’s center of gravity area. For mounting a scope, the solid steel receiver features integrated Ruger mounting bases. This eliminates the need for an additional mounting rail as a possible interface. An open sight is not present on model 7220.Bolt-action rifle in caliber .17 HornetGreen Mountain laminate stockStainless steel receiver and barrel with matte stainless finishCold hammer-forged barrel with 470 mm / 18.5" lengthMuzzle thread 1/2"-28 with thread protectorRight-hand twist 1:9" / approx. 229 mmRobust stainless steel bolt with 90° opening angleThree-position safetyRemovable 6-round rotary magazineFlush-fitting magazineIntegrated scope mounting bases in steel receiverSling swivel studs includedTechnical DataManufacturerRugerSeries77-Series / 77/17Model Number7220TypeBolt-action rifleCaliber.17 HornetMagazine Capacity6 roundsMagazine TypeRemovable rotary magazineBarrel Length470 mm / 18.5"Barrel ManufactureCold hammer-forgedMuzzle Thread1/2"-28Thread ProtectorFactory installedRifling6 groovesTwist1:9" right-hand twist / approx. 229 mmBoltStainless steel, 90° opening angleSafetyThree-position safetyMaterialStainless steelFinishMatte stainlessStockGreen Mountain laminateSightsNo open sightsScope MountIntegrated Ruger mounting basesOverall Lengthapprox. 959 mm / 37.75"Length of Pullapprox. 343 mm / 13.5"Weightapprox. 3.18 kg / 7 lbSling Swivel StudsIncludedUPC736676072200
