LEE PRECISION Classic Turret 90064: short distances between control and loading flow
The Classic Turret combines four permanently set die positions with an automatically rotating turret head. It is aimed at reloaders who find a single-stage press too slow and a progressive press too complex.

The heavy cast frame, steel linkage, and the drilled press ram form a robust workbench base. However, decisive for the purchase are not only the press but also the caliber-appropriate dies, the case holder, and the question of whether primer feed and powder measure should be added later.

Check before buying



Press or Set: The individual press 90064 is offered. The Classic Turret Kit 90304 as well as caliber-specific kits are separate products and not part of this version.

Turret Head: A Lee 4-hole turret 90269 is included with the press. Additional turret heads for prepared caliber sets are needed separately; three-hole turrets and Pro-1000 turret heads do not fit.

Auto-Index: The manufacturer's instructions limit the automatic index to cases or loading units up to 3 1/16″ overall length.

Setup: The press must be mounted with three suitable screws on a sturdy workbench or with the separately available Lee Bench Plate System 90251. Mounting hardware is not confirmed as included.

Our assessment from a user and instructor perspective
The Classic Turret is especially interesting when multiple steps should remain in a manageable sequence: The turret holds up to four dies, while each case is still visibly processed station by station. For pure precision batches with frequently changing special processes, a single-stage press can be calmer and more flexible; for maximum output, a progressive press offers more automation.

Fits well if: you regularly load handgun or common rifle calibers in small to medium series, want to keep settings in your own turret, and consciously control every step.
Not ideal if: you expect a complete starter set, want very long loading runs indexed exclusively automatically, or seek the highest possible production rate.

What really counts in use


Four stations: Calibrating, expanding or powder charging, bullet seating, and separate crimping can be done sequentially with suitable die sets without resetting.

Tool head change: To remove, the turret is lifted and turned. An additional turret per caliber shortens the change, but does not replace documented function and dimension checks.

Clean primer path: Spent primers run through the hollow ram into the clear PVC tube. Regularly check tube, ram, and bearing surfaces for residue.

Priming as needed: Small and large LPS primer arms are listed in the manual. The accelerating Safety-Prime feeder is an accessory; when combined with a case-actuated powder measure, the separately offered Riser 90041 may be required for clearance.

Manual operation remains possible: By removing the index rod, the tool head can be used without auto-index. This is helpful for individual steps or longer applications but does not automatically make the press the ideal solution for every special caliber.

Instructor/user tip: First set up only the press, tool head, and empty case. Slowly run through the complete cycle, check each turret detent, and correct the index position only with the ram lowered. Only add primer or powder components once die travel, case holder, and clearance are reproducibly correct.

Limits and safe use
The press is a tool, not a loading approval. Suitable dies, case holders, tested components, and reliable load data are required for each caliber. LEE requires safety glasses, separate and clearly labeled storage of powder and primers, and strict adherence to all manufacturer instructions.

Important note: Set up and function test without powder and primers. Keep hands, clothing, and cables away from linkage and turret area. Do not force if unusual resistance occurs; check case, case holder, die, index, and settings. Spent primers can release lead residues; keep the workspace clean and wash hands after work. Do not grind or weld steel parts.

Comparison and useful additions

A single-stage press offers maximum simplicity for individual operations, while the Classic Turret reduces setup and changeover times for recurring processes. Frequently Asked Questions
Is this the press or the complete Classic Turret Kit? It is the single press with manufacturer No. 90064. The kit 90304 and the caliber-specific kits have their own SKUs and GTINs and are not part of this variant.
Is a 4-hole turret included? Yes. The manufacturer’s manual lists the 4-hole turret 90269 as part of the press. Additional turrets for prepared caliber sets are purchased separately.
Do three-hole turrets or Pro-1000 tool heads fit? No. LEE explicitly excludes three-hole turrets and Pro-1000 tool heads. The Lee 4-hole turret 90269 is intended for the Classic Turret Press.
