BROWNELLS Magazine Lip Straightening Tool for AR-15/M16 Magazines
The 14 cm long straightening tool supports controlled reshaping of bent feed lips on compatible AR-15/M16 magazine bodies. The long handle allows small, precise corrections when a basically intact magazine no longer feeds cleanly due to slight deformation.
Fits well – and when not
The tool is suitable for experienced workshop users who can reliably assess the cause and extent of slight lip deformation. It is not intended for torn, heavily crushed, corroded, or otherwise structurally damaged magazines; such magazines should be replaced.
Compatibility and avoiding wrong purchases
Designed for AR-15/M16 magazines; shape and material of other magazine types may vary.
The feed lips must be accessible and deformable without cracking.
The tool is not a gauge: target dimensions and symmetry must be checked on an intact reference magazine or according to manufacturer specifications.
Practical effect and limits
Small corrections can make cartridge position and feed angle more uniform again. Too large bending steps harden or weaken the material and can cause new feeding issues. A mechanically straightened magazine must therefore be fully tested and is not automatically ready for use.
Scope of delivery
Includes one BROWNELLS magazine lip straightening tool in black. Magazine, gauge, reference magazine, protective equipment, and test cartridges are not included.
Safe use
Unload firearm and magazine completely; remove ammunition from the work area and wear safety glasses.
Clean magazine and check for cracks, sharp edges, or permanent material damage.
Apply tool fully and straight; straighten only in very small steps.
Compare symmetry and spacing after each step. For function tests, use only suitable inert test cartridges initially.
Take the magazine out of service if there are cracks, recurring deformation, or unclear feeding.
Black-Raptor classification
The straightening tool is a targeted workshop solution for slight, clearly visible feed lip deformations. It can save a high-quality magazine but requires experience and controlled test steps; replacement is the safer choice in case of structural damage.
