Change caliber without searching for a separate holder for each case head
The manual LYMAN Universal Case Trimmer clamps many common cases via a universal chuckhead system. Nine pilots cover common case neck diameters; for a clean cut, case, pilot, and target dimension must still fit exactly together.

Purchase check

Fits well
for reloaders with several common calibers and small to medium batches
when a universal clamping system is more important than maximum throughput
when cutting length is measured and documented separately

Fits less well
for very large series with production demands
for cases outside the confirmed clamping or pilot range
if deburring, chamfering, and measuring should be done automatically

Features and practical benefits

Universal chuckhead Many compatible cases can be clamped without individual caliber-specific shellholders. Unusual rim geometries must still be explicitly checked.

Nine pilots The included guides cover common calibers. The actual case neck is decisive, not just the cartridge designation.

Manual feed The hand operation allows small, tactile cuts and is well suited for controlled batches. High quantities require more time.

Reproducible setup With a reference case and measurement protocol, a setup can be repeated. Scales or stops never replace measuring the final dimension.

Limits, disadvantages, and avoiding bad purchases
“Universal” is no free pass for every case. Rim geometry, clamping range, and pilot must fit together. The trimmer only shortens; inside deburring, outside chamfering, cleaning, and length checking remain separate steps. Dirty contact surfaces or too much pressure ve
rfälschen das Ergebnis.
Technische Daten mit Praxisfolge

Modell / MPN LYMAN 7862000; Praxisfolge: den manuellen Universal-Trimmer eindeutig auswählen.

Piloten neun Größen enthalten; Praxisfolge: passenden Durchmesser vor Einspannen bestimmen.

Antrieb Handkurbel; Praxisfolge: hohe Kontrolle, geringerer Durchsatz.

Spannprinzip Universal-Chuckhead; Praxisfolge: weniger Halterwechsel, aber Kompatibilitätsprüfung bleibt.

Lieferumfang
