Limits, disadvantages and avoiding bad purchases
The BHN value describes hardness, not automatically the safe suitability of a load. Sample, temperature, exposure time, surface and reading influence the result. Hot, curved or dirty samples do not provide a reliable basis for comparison. Lead requires consistent hygiene.

Application, care and safety
Only test cold, clean and sufficiently flat samples. Insert the set flush into the press according to the instructions, create the impression without tilting and only then measure optically. Do not eat, drink or smoke when handling lead; avoid dust, clean the workplace and wash hands thoroughly.
