Die HK SFP9 A1 is an evolution of the Heckler & Koch SFP9 pistol focusing on improved ergonomics and handling. The SFP9F A1 is in the "Full Size" format for official use (not to be confused with the "L" or "Match" versions, which feature significantly longer barrels).
The pistols of the A1 generation are standard "Optic Ready" and feature a maritime bolt design with additional grooves that make loading easier even under difficult conditions such as wet, sweaty, or dirty hands.
It combines the full grip frame of the standard SFP9 with a compact bolt for good control and handling. Additionally, it forgoes the so-called "fingergrooves" (finger grooves on the grip frame).
Another feature is a textured area on both sides of the pistol that serves as a tactile reference point. These special contact surfaces allow precise placement of the supporting hand's thumb and the shooting hand's index finger.
The magazines have also been revised: The SFP9 A1 magazines now feature a lateral finger rest that makes removal easier.
