DLC: Maximum Protection
Diamond Like Carbon, or DLC for short, is 40 times thinner than a human hair but many times harder than steel. This high-tech coating, produced in Germany and used in aerospace, mechanical engineering, and even surgery, combines absolute wear resistance, hardness, and corrosion resistance. The steel is bombarded with carbon atoms under plasma in a high vacuum, causing the carbon to transition into a very hard, diamond-like phase due to the released energy.
