Limits, disadvantages and avoiding bad purchases
Division is not the same as a calibration certificate or guaranteed total measurement uncertainty. Dirt, temperature, zero point, measuring force, height at the neck and tilting change the result. Wall thickness must not be confused with runout; a safe turning thickness also requires chamber dimension, bullet diameter, desired neck clearance and manufacturer specifications.

Application, care and safety
Measure only empty, clean and undamaged cases. Clean anvil and measuring surface lint-free, check zero setting and always guide the case straight at the same height. Measure and document four or more circumference points with ratchet. Never close against a wrong zero point or with excessive force.

Does the MIC3 measure runout? No. It measures the local wall thickness of the case neck. Which cases are intended? The provider specifies .17 caliber and larger; the specific geometry must fit cleanly on the anvil. Can I directly determine the turning thickness from it? No. Additional chamber and bullet data are required for that. Why is the ratchet important? It supports a more consistent measuring force in repetitions. How many points should I measure? Four evenly distributed points are a reasonable start; precise sorting may require more. Is a calibration certificate included? Such is not listed in the confirmed scope of delivery.
