LEE PRECISION 90251 · Bench Plate
Change presses without disassembling the workbench every time
The Bench Plate Kit turns a fixed base plate into a quick-change system. Press or accessories stay on their own base block and can be removed from the workspace as needed.
Steel base block for current Lee metal presses
Black-Raptor-Classification
The real benefit is no longer pressing power, but a clean change with limited workbench space. If you only operate one press permanently, a direct screw connection is simpler. If you share several devices, the 90251 saves repeated loosening of the workbench mounting.
Does this fit your workspace?
Fits well
Several Lee metal presses share one workbench.
The press should be stored away after work.
Reloading accessories are used alternately in the same place.
You can mount the base plate cleanly on the edge of the table.
Fits rather not
Only one press remains permanently mounted.
The workbench itself is structurally unstable.
You expect plug-and-play for every third-party brand.
Drilling into the table or workbench is not possible.
What the system practically offers
Fixed base plate
The Bench Plate stays screwed in. This means the load-bearing connection to the workbench does not have to be loosened with every device change.
Removable base block
The press sits on the change block and is guided by the Z-brackets. This creates a reproducible place s
tatt wechselnder Einzelbohrungen.
Load Distribution
The wide steel plate distributes pressing forces over a larger area. It improves the transfer to the workbench top but does not replace a sturdy workbench.
Expandable System
For an additional Lee press, the extra Steel Base Block 90267 is the obvious complement.
Limits and Avoiding Bad Purchases
“Fits all current Lee metallic presses” refers to currently manufactured Lee metal presses and the included steel block. For foreign presses, Lee describes a self-made 3/4-inch plywood block according to the official drilling template. Old special designs, shot presses, or foreign brands should therefore not be generally treated as directly compatible.
Assembly and Use
Position the base plate at the front edge of a stable workbench and check crossbeams and drawers.
Choose four suitable positions from the six mounting holes.
Dimension fasteners according to table thickness and construction; the workbench-side screws are not generally guaranteed.
Connect the press only at the actually fitting foot holes with the steel base block.
When changing, slightly loosen Z-brackets, remove alignment aid, and carefully remove the block.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the kit fit every current Lee reloading press? According to Lee, the steel base block is intended for currently manufactured Lee metal presses. For older or atypical devices, still check the foot geometry.
Can I mount presses from other brands? Not as guaranteed direct mounting. Lee describes a self-drilled 3/4-inch plywood block according to the Fit Guide for this.
Does the base plate need to be unscrewed when changing? No. It remains fixed to the workbench; only the base block with the mounted press is removed.
What do I need for a second Lee press? Usually an additional Steel Base Block 90267 so both presses remain prepared on their own blocks.
Are wooden quick-change plates included? They are not guaranteed in the currently confirmed manufacturer scope. Historical kit versions are not a reliable basis for this.
Which workbench is suitable? A stable, sufficiently strong construction with collision-free underframe. The Bench Plate cannot replace a weak workbench.
Summary: Recommended for a tidy multi-press workspace or limited space. For a single, permanently mounted press, direct screwing is usually more economical.
