Spuhr SP-3022 · 30 mm · 70 mm Cantilever
Extended Cantilever for 30 mm scopes when normal offset isn’t enough The SP-3022 sets a 30 mm scope 70 mm forward and holds the optical axis 38 mm above the rail. This keeps the entire base on the receiver, even though the scope has to be mounted very far forward.
Important: This classic SP-3022 is not identical to the later Gen3 versions SP-3022C/CM.
Our honest assessment
The clear reason to buy is the long cantilever at AR-typical height. If 40 mm cantilever is already enough for eye relief, the SP-3022 is unnecessarily long. Those who need 70 mm get a clean solution without a receiver handguard bridge.
Fits well if … … a 30 mm scope has to be mounted very far forward and 38 mm axis height fits ergonomically.
Fits less well if … … a shorter cantilever is enough, QD or forward tilt is needed, or an integrated bubble level is mandatory.
Features and practical effect
70 mm offset Moves the ring position far forward while all clamping points remain on the rigid receiver.
38 mm axis height AR-typical 1.5-inch geometry. On classic stocks, the head position can become too high.
0 MOA Neutral. The mount solves the eye relief, not missing elevation reserve.
No integrated bubble level Canting control must be planned separately and sensibly in the line of sight if needed.
Limits, disadvantages and typical misbuys
Most common misbuy: automatically treating “more offset” as better. Too much cantilever extends the setup without benefit.
30 mm tube diameter alone is not enough. Fixed ring positions need matching straight clamping zones; extended TPAL-/EREK adjustment turret housings are according to vorha
ndenen Daten ausgeschlossen.
Technical Data with Practical Interpretation
Picatinny / STANAG mount, fixed Torx clamping.
Main tube 30 mm.
Height / Forward offset 38 mm axis height / 70 mm cantilever.
Tilt 0 MIL / 0 MOA.
Length / Weight approx. 140 mm / 242 g according to available data.
Material 7075-T651 aluminum, hard anodized; seven Spuhr interface sets.
Scope of delivery
Spuhr SP-3022 Extended-Cantilever Mount, 10-degree leveling wedge, and manufacturer’s manual. Scope, firearm, torque wrench, external bubble level, and additional interface accessories are not included.
Safe Use
Receiver remains the base Do not clamp on the handguard. The long cantilever is exactly for carrying the optic forward.
Check clamping zones Turret block, magnification ring, and eyepiece must not enter the fixed ring surfaces. Re-zero after mounting.
FAQ
Why 70 mm cantilever? For setups where a shorter extension does not achieve the correct eye relief. Does the SP-3022 have a bubble level? No. Is the mount angled? No. It is neutral at 0 MOA. Is the SP-3022 QD? No. It is fixed screwed.
Black Raptor · Buying advice instead of datasheet
The SP-3022 is the right special solution if you really need 70 mm forward offset and 38 mm AR height with a 30 mm optic. Without this need, a more compact mount is the cleaner choice.
