Direct mount for older AI systems – not for Picatinny The SA-3601 connects a 30 mm scope directly to the older 11 mm prism mount of Accuracy International. 35 mm center height and 6 MIL / 20.6 MOA cant make it a targeted long-range solution for exactly this platform.
Crucial before purchase: “Accuracy International” alone is not enough. If your system already uses Picatinny or STANAG, this SA direct mount is the wrong choice.

Our honest assessment

The advantage is the short mechanical chain: no additional Picatinny base, no extra clamping point. This makes sense if the older AI prism rail is actually present and the 30 mm optic fits the fixed ring positions.
The 6 MIL cant only provides usable long-range elevation if the scope still has enough adjustment left for the desired zero.



Fits well if … … your older AI system has the specified 11 mm prism mount.
… your scope has a 30 mm main tube with matching straight clamping zones.


Fits less well if … … Picatinny/STANAG is present, 34 mm tube diameter is needed, or you want QD.
… 20.6 MOA cant endangers your close zero.


Features and practical effect


Direct AI mount The mount body sits directly on the legacy AI prism rail. This saves an additional base but requires exact platform fit.


35 mm center height The specification describes the optical axis, not the clearance under the objective. Outer diameter, caps and
Barrel/system geometry must be checked separately.

6 MIL / 20.6 MOA The forward tilt shifts the existing elevation adjustment range in favor of longer distances. It does not increase precision and does not enlarge the total adjustment range.

One-piece design 126 mm length, integrated bubble level and seven Spuhr interface sets bundle ring position, alignment, and accessory interfaces in one body.

Limits, disadvantages, and typical bad purchases

Most common bad purchase: ordering the SA-3601 just because of “Accuracy International” or “11 mm.” Other 11-mm prisms and AI systems with Picatinny are not automatically compatible.
A 30 mm tube diameter alone is not enough: turret block, ocular, and objective transitions must fit between the fixed ring positions. According to existing data, mounting for US-Optics-TPAL/EREK geometries is not intended.

Safe use

Identify mount first Before mounting, confirm the actual AI prism geometry and keep all contact surfaces clean and undamaged.

Do not improvise torque Do not arbitrarily re-oil or change the factory-prepared screws with thread locker. Current manufacturer specifications apply.

FAQ
Does the SA-3601 fit on Picatinny? No. Spuhr models from the SP or QDP family are intended for that.
Does every 30-mm scope fit? No. The straight clamping zones and the position of the turret block must also fit the fixed rings.
Is 20.6 MOA always better for long range? No. The forward tilt must match the existing optic adjustment range and the desired zero point.
What does 35 mm mean? The axis height from the system mount to the optical center, not the free objective distance.

The SA-3601 is a very good direct solution when legacy AI mount, 30-mm optic, and 6-MIL tilt fit exactly together. If one of these points is missing, another Spuhr family is usually the cleaner choice.
