If a Trijicon MRO should sit as close as possible above the rail and still remain removable without disassembly tools, a high Co-Witness mount is the wrong approach. The low AD-MRO-L combines the MRO-specific interface with an adjustable QD clamp for the Picatinny rail.
The product is a complete optic mount: no receiver, no optic, no riser, and no universal base. The real added value comes from the combination of low profile, MRO-specific fit, and the ADM Auto Lock Lever System.
Which version fits?
Two black lever variants are available in the shop. The first option is the standard lever; the second option with the addition Variant 2 is the tactical lever. Both use the same low MRO mount and the same adjustable QD principle. The choice concerns lever ergonomics, not the optic interface.
Standard lever: the more compact choice when the lever should protrude as little as possible laterally. Tactical lever: the operation-focused choice when a larger thumb rest for unlocking and closing is more important than a slimmer contour.
The low profile is intended for setups where the MRO is deliberately positioned close above the rail. Those planning an absolute or lower-third Co-Witness height with an AR sight need a different AD-MRO height variant. Likewise, this mount is not a solution for Aimpoint Micro-, Trijicon RMR-, or other similarly looking footprints.
What does the Auto Lock Lever System bring in use?
ADM manufactures the mount from 6061-T6 aluminum and finishes it with a black Type-III hard anodized surface. Crucial for the user, however, is the clamping: The Auto Lock Lever System can be adjusted on rails within and outside the tolerance range. No proprietary adjustment tool is needed; ADM recommends a finger or a flathead screwdriver.
A properly adjusted QD clamp saves time when switching between transport, cleaning, and use. However, it does not replace a clean reference position. Anyone who mounts the mount in a different slot or without a consistent stop after each removal forfeits the practical advantage of the quick-release function.
Instructor tip: Position first, then lever tension Set a fixed rail slot as a reference, push the mount against the same slot flank each time when mounting, and only then close the lever. Check the system unloaded for play first. If the lever must be forced closed, this is not a safety gain but a reason to reset the adjustment according to ADM specifications.
User note: Choose lever direction consciously ADM allows locking forward or backward. Align the lever so that it does not collide with controls or adjacent accessories and is not unintentionally stressed when carried. This decision should be made before zeroing.
User note: Check contact surfaces Dirt, burrs, or an oily layer between mount and rail change the fit. Clean both contact surfaces appropriately, position the mount at the marked position, and check after the first t
raining again, whether play or visible shift has occurred.
Purchase limit and alternatives
Buy if: a Trijicon MRO is present, a low sight line is desired, and the optic is regularly removed from a suitable Picatinny rail without proprietary tools. Don’t buy if: a co-witness setup, a different optic footprint, or a fixed direct mount without QD lever is needed. Also, ordering is too early for a setup whose rail interface is only suspected based on a photo.
For an Aimpoint Micro footprint, the ADM Aimpoint Micro T1/T2 Low Mount is the suitable model-specific alternative. For compact ACOG models with their own interface, the ADM Mini-ACOG mount is intended. Both links are alternatives for other optics, not adapters for the MRO.

Scope of delivery
Included is a low black AD-MRO-L mount in the chosen lever version. A Trijicon MRO, the firearm or rail, and tools are not included in the confirmed scope of delivery.
Check before mounting: Mounting screws are not clearly specified in the available ADM documents. Therefore, compare the actual package contents with the current ADM documentation and the specifications of the Trijicon MRO before reusing existing screws or procuring replacement screws. Only the current specifications of the involved manufacturers apply for screw torque and thread locking.
Our assessment
The AD-MRO-L is strong when low and quick removal are required simultaneously. Its system benefit lies not in universal fit, but precisely in the fixed MRO assignment and the adjustable rail clamping. The standard lever prioritizes the more compact contour, the tactical lever the more ergonomic operating surface.
The honest limit is also clear: Those who want to combine iron sights and MRO at a defined co-witness height need a different height version. And those who keep the optic permanently mounted should consider whether a fixed screwed solution with fewer movable controls better suits their workflow.
FAQ
Does the mount fit every red dot optic? No. The upper interface is designed for the Trijicon MRO. Similar housing shapes or screw distances of other optics are not proof of compatibility. Which shop selection is the standard lever? The selection without the addition Variant 2 stands for AD-MRO-L-STD with standard lever. The selection with Variant 2 stands for AD-MRO-L-TAC with tactical lever. Is this a co-witness mount? No, the low AD-MRO-L version is offered. For a setup with absolute or lower-third co-witness height, a different MRO mounting height must be chosen. Do I need special tools for the QD adjustment? ADM does not specify proprietary tools. According to the manufacturer, the auto-lock adjustment can be done with a finger or a flat screwdriver. Can the lever lock in the other direction? Yes. ADM states that the lever can be configured for locking forward or backward. The collision-free direction should be determined before zeroing. What must I consider after removal? Reinstall the mount in the same m
arked rail groove and against the same groove flank. Check the secure fit before using the system; if the clamping force changes, the adjustment must be checked according to the manufacturer's specifications.
