A precise Crowfoot wrench for two clearly defined A2 tasks: 5/8-inch wrench flats on the muzzle device and the extension tube of an A2 fixed stock.
The Real Avid MASTER-FIT AVMF58MDW attaches to a 1/2-inch square drive torque wrench. Titanium-coated stainless steel and tight manufacturing tolerances are designed to provide a firm, controlled fit and minimize marks on matching parts.

5/8-inch Crowfoot for compatible muzzle devices
Profile for A2 fixed stock extension tubes
1/2-inch square drive for torque wrench
Titanium-coated stainless steel

Three measurements that must not be confused
5/8 inch refers to the intended wrench size on the matching wrench flats for this tool. This is not a general statement about the thread of a muzzle device. 1/2 inch refers to the square drive for the torque wrench. The second tool profile is intended for the extension tube of an A2 fixed stock.
Before purchase, the actual wrench size of the muzzle device, the design of the stock system, and the drive of the existing torque wrench must be checked separately. Compatibility is not confirmed for other wrench flats, adjustable carbine receiver extensions, or proprietary parts.
What the wrench is intended for
The open Crowfoot can be placed sideways onto an accessible 5/8-inch wrench flat. In combination with a suitable 1/2-inch torque wrench, the torque specified by the part manufacturer can be applied in a controlled manner. The second profile is used for installing and removing the extension tube of an A2 fixed stock.
The wrench itself does not provide a torque value. The instructions of the specific part, the thread and locking method used, and the installation direction are always decisive. When the Crowfoot is attached as an extension to the torque wrench, the effective lever arm changes; at a 90-degree position, the effective length remains unchanged in typical use. If in doubt, the setting must be calculated professionally.
Our assessment
The reason to buy is not versatility at any cost, but precise responsibility: Those who repeatedly work on 5/8-inch wrench flats or an A2 fixed stock extension tube get a compact attachment for the existing 1/2-inch torque wrench. The open design facilitates side access when a closed wrench cannot be guided over the part.
The limit is just as clear: The tool does not replace torque wrenches or suitable firearm holders, reaction supports, vise inserts, or the manufacturer's part specifications. It is not a universal AR wrench and not approved for every 5/8-inch thread designation.
Who it is suitable for – and who not?
AVMF58MDW is suitable for knowledgeable users and workshops who work on a confirmed 5/8-inch wrench flat or a matching A2 fixed stock extension tube and already have a 1/2-inch torque wrench and a part-appropriate holder.
It is not suitable if the wrench size is unclear, torque specifications are missing, the stock system is unsuitable, or a complete assembly set is expected. Those who want counter-hold
en am Bauteil improvisieren müsste, sollte Arbeit und Werkzeugauswahl fachkundig prüfen lassen.
Buy or not buy?

Buy if: 5/8-inch wrench size or A2 fixed stock extension tube is clearly confirmed and a suitable 1/2-inch torque wrench is available.
Don’t buy if: you only know a 5/8-inch thread on the muzzle device, use a different square drive, or are looking for a universal Armorer's Wrench including holding and torque tool.

Safe work process

Completely unload the firearm, remove the magazine, visually and physically check the cartridge chamber, and remove ammunition from the work area.
Read the assembly instructions for the firearm and component; clarify prescribed torque, thread preparation, locking agents, and disassembly direction.
Securely and torsion-resistantly hold the firearm or assembly with suitable, component-friendly inserts.
Check wrench size and full fit of the crowfoot. Do not compensate damaged or rounded wrench flats with extra force.
Fully engage the 1/2-inch square drive. Consider the position of the crowfoot relative to the torque wrench and calculate the setting if necessary.
Apply force evenly and in the intended plane. Stop immediately if tilting, slipping, or unusual resistance occurs.
After work, check tool, component, and seating surfaces for marks, burrs, and correct installation.

Safety limit: Never adopt torque values from another component generation or stress the receiver or barrel as an improvised counter-holder. The wrench minimizes possible markings with correct fit but cannot compensate for incorrect application or wrong holding.
Trainer tip

Before the first pull, perform a three-point fit test: visibly and separately check 5/8-inch wrench size, full form-fitting seating, and 1/2-inch drive. Then mark the planned 90-degree position of the crowfoot on the torque wrench. This avoids common confusion between wrench size, thread specification, and square drive.

Two more user tips

Attach the crowfoot as close to a 90-degree angle as possible: The position perpendicular to the torque wrench usually does not change the effective lever length. If the wrench must be inline, the target value must not be adopted unchecked; length and setting must be correctly converted.

Clean contact surface before loading: Oil, locking agent residues, or burrs between tool and wrench flat reduce secure fit. Clean contact surfaces, place the wrench fully against the stop, and only then apply load.

Suitable tools in the system
For other defined work points, the Real Avid MASTER-FIT 2-spanner wrench, the MASTER-FIT 2-sided free-float barrel nut wrench, and the MASTER-FIT 3-prong wrench for muzzle brakes are available. Each insert has its own geometry; selection is based on the specific component, not on visual similarity.

FAQ
Is 5/8 inch the thread size of the muzzle device? No. For this tool, 5/8 inch refers to the intended wrench size on the wrench flats. The thread size of the specific muzzle device must be checked separately. Which torque wrench fits? The Crowfoo
It is designed for a torque wrench with a 1/2-inch square drive. A torque wrench is not included.

Does the wrench fit every AR receiver extension? No. It is intended for use on the extension tube of an A2 fixed stock. There is no general approval for carbine systems, proprietary tubes, or other geometries.

What torque must be set? The tool does not specify a universal value. Follow the instructions of the specific component or firearm. The position and effective length of the crowfoot must be considered when setting the torque.

Does the titanium coating completely prevent scratches? No. Material, fit, and tight seating are designed for controlled work and minimal markings. Dirt, tilting, incorrect wrench size, or excessive force can still cause marks.

Is a complete MASTER-FIT set included? No. A single AVMF58MDW wrench is delivered. Torque wrench, holder, and additional crowfoot inserts must be available or selected separately.
