Fits well / fits rather not


Fits well for a permanently set up, load-bearing workbench when firearms or assemblies are frequently repositioned between cleaning, alignment, and assembly.


Fits rather not for mobile use, makeshift tables, or force-intensive work without a suitable system-specific clamping block.


Positioning is not the same as force absorption
Speed-Cam allows free alignment via the ball joint. For high forces, one of the four vertical or four horizontal Torq-Lok positions is additionally used. The manufacturer limit of 100 ft-lb describes the vise in correctly mounted condition – it is not an approved torque for a firearm component.
Features & practical effect


Gun-Fit jaws Padded side for more delicate contours, grooved nylon side for more robust shapes. Intended for light securing and positioning.


Torq-Lok Mechanically defined positions for load instead of letting the ball joint work alone under high torque.


Accu-Level Fine correction up to ±3° – helpful for alignment but no substitute for a verified reference surface.


3.5 inch opening The stainless steel jaws open up to 3.5 inches; geometry and protection of the specific workpiece remain crucial.


Limits & risk of bad purchase

Gun-Fit sleeves are not the right force absorption for every torque-related assembly.
For high forces, use a system-specific clamping block and suitable K
Use force path.
Maximum 100 ft-lb at the vise is not to be interpreted as a component target value.
The workbench must be permanently and sufficiently load-bearing fixed; provisional clamping is not an equivalent base.

Practical / Instructor tip
First plan the force path: before clamping, determine where torque is applied, which clamping block absorbs it, and which Torq-Lok position offers free tool access. For cleaning or inspection, use the advantage of the free ball position and only then fix with Speed-Cam.

System additions
For AR-15 lowers, the SMART-FIT AR-15 clamping block is a suitable addition; for suitable AR-15 uppers, the LUG-LOK upper clamping block.
FAQ
Does the vise have to be firmly screwed down? Yes. The system is designed for fixed workbench mounting.
Can any work up to 100 ft-lb be performed? No. Component, clamping block, workbench, and assembly instructions may set significantly lower limits.
Are Smart-Fit or Lug-Lok included? No. These system-specific adapters are separate products.
What is Accu-Level for? For fine tilt correction after rough positioning; it does not replace a verified reference surface.
Black-Raptor classification: A strong fixed workbench solution when variable working angles and defined force positions are really used. Without a load-bearing bench or suitable clamping blocks, a large part of the system advantage remains unused.
