Real Avid Master Sight Press: versatile slide mount with clear 150-in-lb limit AVMSP moves laterally pressed pistol sights with finely geared, reversible pressure block. Adjustable contact surfaces and the Compact Slide Expansion Plate extend the working range to many striker-fired and 1911 slides.
It is versatile but not universal. Slide geometry, sight profile, and prescribed pressing direction must be determined before clamping.

Quick check and classification
The pressure block offers a 5/32-inch or 4-mm narrower side and a 60-degree contact surface on the back. Plastic and steel clamping surfaces with protective pads help align the removed slide. The 3/8-inch mount allows controlled torque measurement under increased resistance.


Fits well if … … you repeatedly work on various compatible pistol sights and can check the specific slide/sight geometry.


Fits less if … … you expect guaranteed universal fit, the sight is hydraulically pressed, or the correct movement direction is unclear.

Limits and avoiding bad purchases
Maximum 150 in-lb and never force against unclear fitting. Unload the firearm, remove the slide according to the manual and clarify the installation/removal direction of the specific sight. Many externally secured hammer-fired slides are not compatible. If binding, tilted pressure block or seized sight occurs, stop immediately.

Does AVMSP fit every pistol? No. Real Avid names many striker-fired and 1911 slides; the specific geometry must still be checked. When is the Expansion Plate needed? According to the manual, for 18–23 mm slide width and/or less than 18 mm height to the sight groove. What is the maximum torque? Maximum 150 in-lb. If unusual resistance occurs, stop beforehand and check alignment. Is centering the same as zeroing? No. The geometric starting position does not replace a subsequent point-of-impact check.

The Master Sight Pusher makes sense for a mixed pistol workbench if compatibility is checked carefully in advance. For Glock only, a Glock-specific pusher can be simpler and faster.
