Limits, disadvantages and avoiding bad purchases

Profile before length: A 2-inch bit is only helpful if the profile and size exactly match the screw.
Avoid canting: Long bits increase reach but can apply more leverage on the screw head and bit if angled. Therefore, guide the tool as axially as possible.
Torque must be considered separately: The bits do not determine the tightening value. For defined screw connections, the manufacturer’s specification of the component still applies.
