Closed forend for Remington 700 SA: Front solution only for the matching KRG chassis The KRG Enclosed Forend replaces the existing front on a suitable Whiskey-3, X-Ray, or Bravo chassis with Remington 700 Short Action inlet. It is not a universal handguard and is not mounted directly to a bare Remington action.
The most important point: chassis family, action length, and front system must clearly fit before purchase.

Our honest assessment

The enclosed forend brings KRG hole patterns and M-LOK compatible openings into a longer front structure. This makes sense if bipod, sling, or accessory positions are to be specifically planned on the KRG system.
The design also creates clearance above the barrel so the scope doesn’t have to be mounted unnecessarily high just because of the forend. The actual ring height still depends on the scope, barrel contour, and real clearance.



Fits well if … … your Remington 700 SA system is already in a suitable KRG Whiskey-3, X-Ray, or Bravo chassis.
… you want a closed KRG front with defined mounting points.


Probably doesn’t fit if … … you only have a Remington 700 SA without a matching KRG chassis.
… a spigot mount is absolutely required
used or an ARCA rail integrated from the factory is expected.


Practical effect


KRG + M-LOK The front offers KRG hole patterns and M-LOK-compatible openings. Accessories still depend on their own counterpart.


Barrel contour A straight barrel with 1.250 inch fits only very tightly according to KRG. The manufacturer recommends a smaller contour and advises against overly heavy profiles for good balance.


Scope clearance The recessed upper area can facilitate lower scope positions but does not replace measuring the complete setup.


Plan accessories in advance Some attachment points are less conveniently accessible after sliding on. Therefore, position front accessories sensibly before the forend is finally seated.


Limits and risk of wrong purchase

KRG explicitly states the Enclosed Forend is not compatible with the Spigot Mount. Anyone needing a Spigot system must choose a different front solution.
Remington 700 SA only describes the action inlet. The existing KRG chassis remains the actual counterpart.
