Classification before purchase
A bolt-action rifle does not automatically become more precise with a chassis. The gain comes when action footprint, magazine, and cheek rest fit together. This BRAVO Gen 2 is the chassis for a Remington 700 short action build: it accepts the barreled action, guides it via the milled radius bedding in the continuous aluminum backbone, and connects it with an adjustable, conventionally shaped shoulder stock. It is not a complete rifle nor a universal Remington stock.
The crucial interface is the Remington 700 short action footprint. KRG offers separate inlets for Long Action, Tikka, and Howa; this variant must not be swapped between these platforms. A suitable AICS magazine is also required for use. The magazine is not included in the delivery.

Our assessment
The strongest reason to buy is the clear system logic for an existing Remington 700 SA build: aluminum backbone and radius bedding create a defined base, while cheek rest and stock length can be adjusted to the cheek weld. This makes sense for precision shooters and hunters who want to build on their existing system deliberately, not for someone looking for a ready-to-use rifle.
The most common misconception would be to assume a universal fit guarantee from the name Remington 700. KRG uses the standard factory recoil lug as a reference. Wider or thicker aftermarket lugs towards the muzzle can fit up to 0.390 inches; very large lugs may require rework on the chassis. Trigger hanger setups and the Tubb two-stage trigger are explicitly not plug-and-play combinations either.

Buy if / Don’t buy if
Buy if your rifle actually has a Remington 700 short action footprint, the recoil lug has been checked before ordering, and you want to consciously use the AICS magazine interface. The chassis fits especially well if you want to adjust the stock dimensions to your optic and cheek weld height and add KRG accessories via the existing M-LOK and threaded interfaces.
Don’t buy if you want to build a Long Action, Tikka, Howa, or an unknown clone. It’s also unsuitable if you expect a magazine in the box, want to use a trigger hanger without modification, or are looking for a finished rifle instead of a chassis base.

Compatibility and magazine logic
KRG offers the Remington 700 SA version for AICS magazines with five or ten cartridges. For the Remington 700 inlet, the manufacturer specifies the front spacer plate as intended; only with a modified action can this be deviated from. Before final tightening, the magazine is inserted for fit testing. The manual explicitly warns against resting the rifle on the magazine while shooting, as pressure can push the magazine against the bolt.
The trigger is as important as the platform: according to KRG, the Remington version accepts the new X-Mark and almost all aftermarket triggers, but some combinations may require adjustments to the trigger or chassis. Therefore, do not plan the trigger only after ordering the chassis but check the specific combination beforehand.

Instructor tip
First set the cheek weld, not the accessory list: with the system unloaded and the same head position you will later use with your optic, adjust the cheek rest. Then insert the three supplied LOP spacers only as far as the trigger hand angle remains relaxed. This prevents compensating for a too-long stock by shoulder pressure or a too-high cheek rest.

Practical notes
Avoid magazine as a source of error: check the fit of the AICS magazine after assembly but do not use it as a support. For a rear support, the suitable BRAVO Flat Bag Rider is the cleaner addition; it is specially designed for Bravo backends.
Forestock after in

If you want to enclose the barrel laterally and have additional front mounting options, the closed fore-end for Remington 700 SA is a suitable upgrade. It replaces the existing fore-end but is not compatible with a spigot mount.
ARCA only add if really needed: The KRG ARCA-Swiss rail fits Bravo chassis and creates a sliding ARCA-Swiss interface. It makes sense for repeatable bipod or tripod positions but is no substitute for the correct choice of action, magazine, and fore-end.
