Black Raptor Quick Check · Ruger American SA
Magpul Hunter American Stock for Ruger American Short Action
A polymer drop-in stock for compatible Ruger American Short Action systems. Useful if you want to rearrange stock length, cheek rest, and M-LOK accessories – not as a universal chassis for every Ruger American variant.

Fits well / fits rather not

Fits well if …
your system is a Ruger American Short Action.
you want to specifically adjust stock length and accessory position.
you are looking for a robust hunting/range stock instead of a heavy match chassis.

Fits rather not if …
you use Long Action or a different platform.
you expect maximum cheek rest/bedding fine adjustment.
you haven’t clarified magazine, barrel, or system compatibility.

Core knowledge: Short Action is the must-check

The Hunter American is designed for Ruger American Short Action. “Ruger American” alone is not enough as a purchase criterion. System length and specific variant must match before ergonomics or color matter.
The benefit comes from reproducible cheek weld, adjustable length, and M-LOK accessory positions. Compared to a precision chassis, the concept remains deliberately simpler and lighter.

Features with practical impact

Drop-in polymer stock Pragmatic conversion for compatible Ruger American SA systems.

Adjustable length Helps adapt shoulder contact to body shape and clothing.

M-LOK Defined mounting points for functional accessories on the fore-end.

Four colors Black, FDE, Gray, and O.D. Green – choice without impact on function.

Limits, disadvantages, and risk of wrong purchase

Short Action must be checked: Long Action/
Special versions cannot be derived from the name.

No match chassis: Less fine adjustment than heavy precision systems.

Accessory positions can collide: Sling, bipod, and rest must fit the grip and magazine clearance.

Optic height remains part of the system: Stock length alone does not solve an unsuitable cheek position.
