MANTIS X2 Shooting Performance System Electronic dry-fire trainer for handguns and long guns: The sensor makes movement during trigger pulls visible and sends the analysis to the MantisX app via Bluetooth.

Good fit / probably not a good fit

Good fit
if you want structured dry-fire training with measurable feedback
if you’re training trigger control, firearm stability, and consistency
if the sensor attachment and smartphone/tablet work with your setup

Probably not a good fit
if you’re primarily looking for live-fire analysis
if your firearm has neither a suitable rail nor a compatible adapter
if you want a training system that doesn’t depend on an app and Bluetooth

What the X2 offers in practice

See movement The sensor tracks movement during trigger pulls. This turns “that felt clean” into measurable training feedback.

Focused on dry fire The X2 is designed for dry-fire training. That keeps things simple: lots of controlled repetitions without using ammunition.

For handguns and long guns Use depends on secure, repeatable attachment to your setup.

App-based analysis Bluetooth and the MantisX app are part of the system. A compatible mobile device is therefore an important part of your purchase decision.

Limitations & how to avoid the wrong purchase

The X2 is not a live-fire system. If you also want to analyze training with live ammunition, check which Mantis model is designed for that.
Check the sensor attachment before buying. Depending on your firearm, an accessory rail may be enough, or you may need a separate adapter. App, operating system, and Bluetooth compatibility may change with updates.

FAQ
What is the MANTIS X2 designed for? Structured dry-fire training with movement analysis and app-based evaluation. Can I use it to analyze live fire? The X2 is classified here as a dry-fire system. For live fire, consider a Mantis model designed for that purpose. Does the sensor fit every firearm? Not automatically. A suitable rail or compatible adapter is required. Do I need a smartphone? Yes, app-based evaluation is a key part of the system.
Black Raptor’s take: The X2 is especially useful if you want to analyze your dry-fire practice, not just repeat it. Its strength is focused feedback during dry-fire training—not the broadest possible range of features.
