Enclosed Green Dot · 7 Reticles · Direct Mount
Vortex Viper Shotgun Green Dot Multi-Reticle: same direct mount logic – different reticle
The Green Dot version combines the closed Viper Shotgun housing with seven green reticle variants. It’s not simply “better” than red: what matters is whether green is perceived faster and more calmly in your typical environment.
Black-Raptor Quick Check
Strongest Point
Low direct mount plus closed emitter – especially useful for weather-exposed shotgun/hunting setups with confirmed receiver drill pattern.
7 Reticles
3-MOA dot, 32-MOA circle, 65-MOA circle and combinations. This allows you to consciously adapt the reticle to the task and shot pattern.
Main Limitation
Not a universal Picatinny optic. Compatibility depends on receiver, drillings, threads, and screw length.
Green instead of Red
Can stand out faster in bright surroundings or certain backgrounds; in green vegetation, red may contrast better for some eyes.
Properly Classifying Green Multi-Reticle
Vortex deliberately offers red and green in parallel. The choice is a matter of perception, not ranking. Those who see green very clearly can especially benefit from quick visual access with moving targets. Those who experience stronger halos or less contrast with green are better off with red.
The circle reticles remain technical references. A 32-MOA or 65-MOA circle does not automatically correspond to your real shot pattern. Choke, load, and distance determine the actual pattern.
Trainer Tip: Shoot the shot pattern first, then choose the reticle. Document how your actual pattern relates to the circle at two or three practical distances.
Technical Data – with Practical Interpretation
Optic
1x Enclosed Micro Green Dot – protected emitter.
Reticle
7 variants from 3-MOA dot, 32-MOA circle, and 65-MOA circle.
Color
Green – perception depends on eye, light, and background.
Battery
CR2032, side access – replacement without removing the optic.
Runtime
up to approx. 50,000 h according to manufacturer, depending on settings and use.
Automation
Motion Activation plus 10-minute auto-shutoff.
Housing
6061 aluminum, enclosed.
Mounting
integrated direct mount for confirmed drilled/threaded receivers.
Compatibility before color
The Vortex compatibility logic is the same as for the red Multi-Reticle version. Confirmed platforms include Benelli, Beretta, Browning, Franchi, Mossberg, Remington, Stoeger, and Winchester as well as selected rifle/muzzleloader platforms. Different threads and special notes apply depending on the model.
KO check before ordering: exact model, year/serial range, drill pattern, thread, and screw length. Do not select the sight by brand or roughly similar receiver shape.
Buy if – or better not?
Buy if …
Your receiver is explicitly compatible.
You perceive green more clearly/faster than red.
You want a closed emitter and low sight line.
You consciously train dot/circle reticles.
Don’t buy if …
You only have a Picatinny rail available.
Your drill pattern is not clearly confirmed.
You see worse with green red dots.
a single dot would be completely sufficient.
Green or Red Multi-Reticle?
The red alternative can be found with the Viper Shotgun Red Dot Multi-Reticle. Technically, the basic idea is identical. Red and green should therefore be chosen based on your own visual perception and environment, not marketing.

FAQ
Does the green version also have seven reticles? Yes. The system combines 3-MOA dot, 32-MOA circle, and 65-MOA circle in seven selectable displays. Is Green Dot better than Red Dot? Not generally. The better color depends on eye, light, and background. Does the sight fit every shotgun? No. It requires a confirmed receiver drill pattern or a compatible direct mount interface. Why is the side battery access practical? The CR2032 can be replaced without removing the optic from the receiver. Can I use the circle as an exact group size? No. It is a visual reference. The actual group size must be confirmed with choke, load, and distance at the range.
