The ZENTRON ZEN Q635 is, from a Black-Raptor perspective, the more exciting device compared to the Q35 if you want more sensor reserve but no integrated rangefi
gsmesser brauchst. The 640×512 sensor provides noticeably more detail reserve, while the 35-mm optic with the larger field of view remains comfortable for territory overview.

That’s exactly what makes the Q635 interesting: It’s not a pure “far away and narrow image” device, but rather a strong territory device. You get overview, image quality, and enough magnification to thoroughly scan familiar areas. For forest edges, field borders, baiting spots, meadows, and territory drives, this is very practical.

The 1.6× optical magnification is deliberately not extremely high. That might seem less spectacular on paper, but is often more pleasant outdoors. You find your way into the image faster, lose less overview, and can scan larger areas more calmly. The digital zoom up to 12.8× is an additional tool but does not replace true optical detail performance.

Practical tip: First overview, then zoom
Don’t use the Q635 immediately at high digital zoom level. Start with the base magnification, calmly scan forest edges, meadows, or corn borders, and only then zoom digitally when you have found a heat source. This way you keep more overview and avoid getting lost in small image sections.
