Magpul MOE-K2+: 17° K2 geometry with full rubber coating.
The MOE-K2+ (MAG532) takes the more vertical 17° geometry of the K2 and combines it with a rubberised surface. This makes it primarily a material and tactile choice. If you like the K2 angle but prefer a softer and grippier feel, this is the more logical option.
Core benefit K2 ergonomics with rubberised surface instead of pure polymer.
Technology 17° angle, 4.1" height, 1.2" max thickness, approx. 3.1 oz including hardware.
Compatibility AR15/M4 and according to Magpul AR10/SR25/M110.
Storage Accepts optional Magpul Grip Storage Cores.
Rubber coating is no minor detail
The K2+ keeps the basic geometry close to the standard MOE-K2: 17° grip angle, large profile and beavertail. The difference lies in the construction. Magpul uses reinforced polymer as the core and adds a rubber coating. The bottom remains a hard polymer edge, which according to the manufacturer protects the softer surface from impacts and reduces snagging.
This doesn’t make the K2+ objectively better or worse. Rubber feels different under dry or wet hands than textured hard plastic. Some users specifically prefer the firm surface of the standard K2. That’s exactly why “more grip” shouldn’t be sold as universally better.

K2+ versus direct alternatives
K2
Same 17° base angle, but firm polymer with TSP texture. The reference if you don’t want a rubber coating.
K2-XL
Significantly larger and 11° steep. A different size class, not just a surface alternative.
MOE+
Also rubberised, but with a more classic 25° angle.
K2+
The combination of 17° and rubber – that’s its unique selling point.
Buy if … You know that
If you like the 17° K2 geometry but prefer a rubberised, slightly softer surface.
Don’t buy if … you don’t like rubber or want a more classic AR grip angle. Then K2 made of hard polymer or MOE+ with 25° suit your needs better.
AR10 note instead of a general “fits” statement
Magpul also lists K2+ for AR10/SR25/M110. At the same time, the manufacturer points out that with certain 7.62 NATO receivers, a visible gap can remain between the beavertail and the housing. According to Magpul, this is only cosmetic but should be transparently mentioned for a proper buying recommendation.
Practical tip: Don’t decide between K2 and K2+ based on colour or product photo, but on feel. If possible, compare a rubberised and a pure polymer grip once – surface preference is very individual.
Mounting note: Only mount in unloaded, secured condition and according to the manufacturer’s instructions. After mounting, check fit and function; if in doubt, seek expert help.
FAQ about the Magpul MOE-K2+
What is the difference between K2 and K2+? The main difference is the rubber coating of the K2+. The 17° base geometry is closely related.
What grip angle does K2+ have? 17°.
Is K2+ suitable for AR10? Magpul lists AR10/SR25/M110. A cosmetic beavertail gap can occur depending on the receiver.
Can K2+ take Storage Cores? Yes, optional Magpul Grip Storage Cores are provided.
When is the normal K2 more useful? If you want 17° but prefer a solid polymer surface instead of rubber.
