MDT Polymer Magazine Gen2 .308: compact DSSF body for compatible AICS systems The Gen2 magazine is designed for AICS-compatible Short Action chassis and bottom metals. The DSSF design combines 10 rounds capacity with a shorter magazine body than a fully single-stack design.
Critical purchase note: maximum cartridge overall length 2.850″. .300 WSM is not recommended according to the stored MDT specification.

Black-Raptor classification
The magazine fits well with training and precision setups when ten cartridges are desired but the magazine body should not be unnecessarily long. Crucial are the AICS Short Action fit, specific cartridge, and cartridge overall length. Just “.308” on the barrel is not a guarantee of fit.


Fits well if … … your chassis or bottom metal uses AICS Short Action and your load stays within the confirmed 2.850″ overall length.


Fits less well if … … you want to use .300 WSM, Long Action, a proprietary magazine, or particularly long handloads.


Features and practical effect


DSSF feed pattern Double Stacked Single Feed keeps the body more compact while creating a defined feed point at the top.


10-round capacity Reduces interruptions during strings; however, a larger magazine remains less compact than 3- or 5-round alternatives.


Glass fiber reinforced nylon polymer Light, grippy, and thermally more comfortable than metal. Still regularly check for damage to lips and body.


Removable floorplate Makes cleaning and inspection easier if dust or residue has entered the magazine.


Caliber and length limits
Confirmed according to stored data are among others .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6 mm Creedmoo
r, .243 Winchester, 6 mm XC, .260 Remington, 7 mm-08 and .308/7.62×51 NATO. Reduced capacity applies for .22-250 Remington. .300 WSM is not recommended. Cartridges over 2.850″ overall length are outside the specified magazine limit.

Does the magazine fit every .308 rifle? No. In addition to caliber, an AICS-compatible short-action magazine well is required. Is .300 WSM suitable? No. MDT does not recommend this polymer model for it. What is important for handloads? The cartridge overall length must not exceed the specified limit of 2.850″.
